It all started when… Verena, a first-generation immigrant with a multicultural heritage, was raised with several languages. All this has prepared her for a life of multiple perspectives, ironies, and paradoxes. Specifically, Verena, born in Karachi, Pakistan, has a Dutch / Luxembourg/ Singaporean heritage. Her mother is from the Netherlands and her father was born in the Dutch East Indies, now known as Indonesia. They came to the U.S. A. when Verena was a young child. Verena learned how to speak and write very precisely so that she would be understood and not be ridiculed for being a foreigner. When Verena says or writes something that she refers to as being "Verena-proof", she figures that anyone could understand it then. Verena has perfected this technique over the past fifty years. Now known as The Top Ten Coach and Writer, Verena's Top Ten articles have appeared in over 200 publications and has reached an estimated 800,000 subscribers worldwide in less than four years (as of 4/4/07). Verena has played a very important role in the advancement of people from all corners of the globe. For over 25 years, she has been providing international consulting and coaching services for trailblazers in the airline, computer, publishing, training and development, government (domestic and foreign), financial, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, advertising, associations, convention and trade, executive search, environmental, and chemical industries, to name a few. Verena's broad industry experience includes airline, computer, publishing, training and development, government (domestic and foreign), financial, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, advertising, associations, convention and trade, executive search, environmental, and chemical, among others. As an international consultant and trainer, Verena worked on a special taskforce within the German government in Berlin following the German Reunification. She contributed to the development of an extensive database of thousands of real estate properties that had been take over by the State during the Communist era and used her skills to uncover a multitude of mysteries including missing data, missing properties, and missing documents. During this time, she also trained a multi-cultural staff in research techniques, communication skills, and computer skills. As an Executive Search Professional, Verena coached oil and gas industry executives, environmental engineers, and technical sales people into more satisfying careers. As a Human Factors Facilitator for Continental Airlines, she coached over 200 pilots around leadership development, communication skills, and resource and stress management. She also developed the international department for the Houston Convention Bureau and was highly involved in generating convention and trade show business for Houston, Texas. Verena, almost 50, remarried in 1995 and lives with her husband, Kurt, a musician, computer guru, and bank executive, and their amazing 6 year old Indigo Child.
